From the invitation:
For a big celebration
Peter’s 2nd Birthday is the special occasion!
Oink! Baa! Cluck! Moo!

Chug along with us, Saturday, 9 July 2011
…I had a crazy plan.
Here is the plan:
Drive to Orange train station (~8:40)
Take the train to San Juan Capistrano
Arrive San Juan Capistrano (~9:20)
explore San Juan Capistrano (~9:20-10:00)
enter ZOOMARS petting zoo (~10:00-lunchtime)
lunch! at Ruby’s (~11:45-1:00)
Train from SJC to Orange
Drive home and nap!
WE DID IT!
Not only did we do this crazy plan but we did it with 11 people (2 of which under 7 years old and 3 people over 80 years old).
Here are the photos!
Not many people get to spend time with their grandparents, and even fewer get to spend time with their great-grandparents. Peter is a blessed boy!
We chatted, played play-dough and trains at home and opened presents, as well as, enjoyed a cake pops. Then we went off to the Harbor House for dinner. In attendance was:
Great Grandpa Bill and Sydney
Grandma and Grandpa Cooke
Kurt and Becky
Peter, the birthday boy
[I wrote this and forgot to post it.]
We are regulars at the Monkey Zoo. Peter and I showed Sally around on this beautiful (not too hot, yet) day in June!
“Here Peter, look at the camera!”
“Are you taking a picture?!” ( I swear I was not singing a song!)
Thanks, strange lady from Chicago, for taking this.
Sally on a Seahorse!
Peter thanking his Anteater for the ride. “Thank you, thank you” [pat on the snoot]
Sally swinging from the Seahorse.
Fun times, I tell you, FUN. There are not two cuter or better kids than these two. They love each other and they are excellent listeners.
On Peter’s actual birthday, he went to school because it was a Thursday (and Mom and Dad work). Kurt and I stayed up late the night before making CAKE POPS for Peter to take to play school. They were fun to make and pretty easy and kinda the perfect serving size for small people. (Yes, we were allowed to bring sweets!)
I think at TWO years old, let’s take a moment to look back on little baby Peter. Photos here!
I am TWO today!
TWO today! Relaxing before going to school. (photo by Dad)
Here are some “old” pictures (Circa early June 2011) because they are cool.
Sally made this LEGO sculpture.
Peter’s Hair Cut
Mom and Dad took the day off and we went to see MICKEY! Per Peter’s request.
We went to his house and knocked on his door. We went in and there he was! We hugged him and said, “Hi!”
Then, the cameraman got Peter to break his stare at Mickey long enough for to take a picture.
It was so fun! Peter loved every minute of it!
Here it is our Mickey meet and greet!
Funny story, Peter and I both had our arms around Mickey and Mickey’s right arm was around me. I think Mickey sensed how I was just as happy as Peter to see him!
There is not much to say. We did our normal routine – HB parade and general hanging out/fun with family.
Here are the highlights:
*I am a dunce and didn’t have my CAMERA. So, I stole the two sideways ones from Christie. I don’t know how to fix them. No Chiropractor bills, please.
We had an awesome Father’s Day.
Kurt is an amazing father. There is not a more loving example of a husband and father than my dear Kurt.
Here he is helping Peter, “climb, climb” the big guy playground.
Our 36″+ nearly two year old son can drive this car… This is his happy place, driving!
BEFORE – The anticipation builds….
DURING – Full blown excitement!
