Restaurants

Last night Kurt and I were discussing different restaurants and cuisine genres and he said that “Applebee’s is the Denny’s of Chili’s.” And I agree.

Veronica Mars

Kurt and I watched all the seasons (1-3) of Veronica Mars. If you never saw this show, we both highly recommend it. Honestly, season three leaves off in a bad place to end the series, but to their credit, they didn’t know it was ending. The show is full of pop culture references, fast paced dialogue, comedy, drama, and mystery. It is very well acted (especially the Logan Echolls character). If I had to chose a fictional character I would want to be friends with, Veronica Mars would be on the short list. Netflix it today.

Gift Tips

Yesterday when I got home there was a Fed Ex box by the door. It was labeled GODIVA CHOCOLATES. The box was addressed to the previous resident (who never forwarded their mail over a year ago!). So I called Godiva to tell them. Well, the customer service rep (Pat) was a kind person and a long-time smoker from the sound of her voice. I chatted her up about where she is located, we talked about Conneticut and the weather, she asked about the fires, we talked about Santa Barbara and Huntington Beach… then since we were friends already, she said that she would do her thing on her end (to let the gift pruchaser know it didn’t get to the correct person)….and here’s the best part… she said I should open the box and enjoy the chocolates!! Well, we did. What lovely unexpected treats for me and Kurt.

As a kind gesture to our readers below are some helpful holiday tips.

TIPS:

1.) When you leave where you
live, you should remember to forward your mail.

2.) Send a nice e-mail to your friends about your new address so that you are able to receive all packages, etc.

3.) When you send things via FED EX, UPS, etc. you have the option to have the delivery company require a signature or not. Require a signature to ensure correct delivery.

Kurt and I were talking and just to set it str8….it should be “H8” not “H8TE”

Guy Fawkes Day and Bonfire Night

Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I can think of no reason
Why the Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, t’was his intent
To blow up the King and Parli’ment.
Three-score barrels of powder below
To prove old England’s overthrow;
By God’s providence he was catch’d
With a dark lantern and burning match.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, let the bells ring.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, God save the King!

The 2008 Election (and why I am glad that is over)

Today for the first time in months, we do not have 6 voice messages on the answering machine from a random politician or celebrity or former politician saying something like, “hi, I am so-and-so, vote [blank] on [blank] because [blank].” We did not receive 3-5 additional calls once we got home from work.

Also, I hate those commercials. People who use those commercials as informational tools to base their vote on are in my opinion very stupid. I wish they would not allow calls or commercials or signs. Just think about how much money they would save….. Prop 8 alone cost $73 million dollars for the pro and con people.

Just think about what we could (and OUGHT to) do with that kind of money… help people (feed, clothe, shelter, health care, educate, etc…) almost anything would be a better use of that money.

I will save my opinions on the issues.

Halloween 2008

We spent the evening watching a movie, cooking and eating bereakfast for dinner, and passing out candy to kids. There was only one kid whose costume I truly understood. She was a pretty princess. The other kids were either in such a large group that they were a blur or they were some character I didn’t know. It was fun. Pictures
